A Bit of Prose for You

I was sooo inspired by my talks with empathy experts that I wrote a quick bit of prose.

The silence. The quiet.
The urgency for peace.
The breeze in the trees.
The torture somewhere else.
Sunshine in darkness.
A burst of flame.
A shift in the earth.
The dream of a good life (fearing we ALL can’t have it ALL).
The beast inside that wants taming.
Afraid of being left behind.
Whose stories do we remember?
Whose stories matter?
Who do we care about?
Empathy: Standing in your shoes and walking by your side.
Stand in mine.
Let’s see!
Like children before the world matters.
It’s you and me,
daring to see,
even though we disagree.
My hand is yours and yours is mine.
I see you.
Do you see me?
We are: A) heroes.
We are: B) villains.
We are: C) human.
And we’re D) All the Above.
