We’ve got some fun news for you today!
Where to start? (I’m gonna save the BIGGEST news for last)
First up…
#1 Your requests
We’ve had quite a few peeps reach out asking for a place to donate funds towards the making of our Empathy documentary.
We listened.
To become an #EmpathyHero, head over to our brand new Donate page, bust open your wallet and send us your support.
Donations at this stage will be used directly for Research + Development – CRUCIAL steps to creating a powerful film!
IMAGINE THIS:
Your gift flies me out to speak with an empathy expert in-person. OR your gift buys me a ticket at an Empathy event. OR your gift helps us find actual participants in the film… The possibilities are endless.
What a difference you get to make on this Empathy journey!!!
Building empathy in the world is more than just creating a documentary… It’s about creating unity.

#2 An invitation!!!
In other news, I’ve been personally invited to speak at The Power of Story conference in Vancouver this October.
(And guess what I’ll be talking about… Empathy and why I’m making this film!!!)
It’s a beautiful line up of speakers including Olympic gold medalist Silken Laumann.
I’m soooo excited!
STAY TUNED: I’ll be posting ticket info in the coming weeks.
And last, but definitely not least…
#3 I’ll be chatting with Ms. Jane Elliot again
You heard me. Ms. Elliott (Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes exercise – Oprah), has agreed to have a follow-up research call.
In many of my calls with other empathy experts, the issues of shame and avoidance have come up a lot, and I wanted to hear Ms. Elliott’s perspective.
So we’re going to speak again in the coming weeks!!
I have to say, she’s AMAZING to speak with. She is wonderfully clear and passionate. And she doesn’t hold back. She’s direct.
Love it!
A refreshing voice in our current climate.
(If you missed my post about my first chat with Ms. Elliott, check it out here.)
Okay #EmpathyHero, that’s it for today. Thank you for joining us on our journey.
Dream up,
Sarah Michelle Brown
Writer/Director/Producer
