This little film was my first baby step towards making the larger documentary on empathy.

Shot the day after the U.S. inauguration (2016), while millions of people, from all walks of life took part in the #WomensMarch.

I woke up that Saturday morning, nervous about going to an actual protest. I grabbed my camera anyway, hopped on the subway and went on down to the sister march in Toronto.

Watch the film below:

It was AMAZING to see so many people, taking a stand for not only women, but also causes like clean water, Standing Rock, Black Lives Matter… It was inspiring.

The empathy, the compassion, the acknowledgement between protesters was a thing of beauty.

In the comments below, let me know if you went to the marches, and what your experience was like. Also, I’m suuuuper curious to hear your thoughts on how EMPATHY can help unite us in these different causes.

Dream up,

Sarah Michelle Brown
